Cogeco Peer 1 Volunteers Help Get Guardian House’s IT Up & Running
For more than 20 years, Guardian House has been providing crucial support services for children and families in and around San Antonio and Bexar County. We’ve made it our mission to shield kids from family conflict, promote positive parenting and relationships, and to keep children and families connected during the often painful process of divorce.
We do this by providing a healthy, positive and monitored environment in which parents and children can interact. This environment is conducive to helping foster better relationships between parents and their children at what is inevitably a challenging time for all involved.
But while our unwavering and passionate commitment is always projected in the work we do, Guardian House wouldn’t be able to function as effectively as it does without the help of our supporters in the community.
Helping Us Help Others
We are very grateful to receive a grant which was used to purchase new desktops and laptops for our staff. But configuring the equipment was going to cost a significant sum of money – money that could be better spent facilitating our important work of supporting families within our community.
That’s where Cogeco Peer 1 stepped in and offered their services.
On February 8, a small group of Cogeco Peer 1 technicians came to Guardian House to volunteer and help configure our new computers. We are now equipped with anti-virus and MS Office software and are connected to our network/printers.
The entire team at Guardian House is thankful for Cogeco Peer 1’s expertise and pay-it-forward culture and community outreach initiatives. Their duty and desire to positively impact the community around them and support non-profit organizations like ours provides a big helping hand.
A big thank you to all involved!
